The house is part of a whole: part of a building with two dwellings built in the tobacco valley.

The union of the two residences, executed with the large stone wall to the north, and with the system of glass windows to the south, is better expressed with the two geometries used for the project: the circular one defines the spaces of the public, of the living area and of service; the orthogonal one identifies the private spaces dedicated to the sleeping area.

The large windows on the ground floor and the brise-soleil, to protect the terraces on the first and second floors, contain the correspondences of the intrinsic uses of the rooms behind: the living room and the kitchen, the only double-height room, open to the view of the river; the rooms, enclosed in a sort of “tesa” (pitch-wing-attic), filter the light of the valley.

The light surfaces of the flooring and walls are modulated by the geometry of the exposed wooden roof in the large “duplex” space of the living area.

The wooden and steel staircase, the only connection between the two areas (public – private) reaches the curved balcony on the first floor: real mediation between the different actions of the day.
